Bereaved Father Sings 'Am Yisrael Chai' as Netanyahu Enters UN Hall

A bereaved Israeli father, Itzik Bonzel, sang "Am Yisrael Chai" (The People of Israel Live) in the United Nations General Assembly hall in New York on Thursday as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu entered to deliver his speech. Bonzel later posted a video of the moment, stating, "As Netanyahu entered the UN hall, I stood and shouted loudly to all the nations of the world, 'Am Yisrael Chai'."

The singing was heard as Netanyahu entered the hall, while dozens of country representatives simultaneously left the venue as his speech began. Netanyahu addressed the walkouts, saying from the stage, "If there are any more cowards who haven't yet left the hall, please do so now!".

During his speech, the Prime Minister discussed the war over the past three years, the October 7th massacre, and the campaigns against Iran and Hezbollah. In a notable moment, Netanyahu held up a pager on the UN stage, asking, "Remember pagers?" adding that Hezbollah "surely remembers."
