Netanyahu Visits Terror Victim Before UN Trip, Asks Public to Pray

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Neriah Leiter, the son of Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening. Neriah Leiter sustained severe injuries, including a head trauma, in a Palestinian terror attack that occurred earlier that day near Highway 443. He was evacuated unconscious, sedated, and on a respirator.

Netanyahu's visit took place shortly before his departure for the United Nations General Assembly. He appealed to the public to pray for Neriah Dov ben Chana's recovery. The Leiter family also issued a similar request, urging prayers and the recitation of Psalms for their son's complete healing.

Ambassador Yechiel Leiter shared on Twitter that he was grateful to the IDF and the medical team at Shaare Zedek for fighting for his son's life and to the prayers of the Israeli people. He expressed belief in the power of prayer and that miracles happen when the nation unites, stating that Neriah needs a miracle.

Leiter also noted that Neriah, a reservist, continued his military service after losing his older brother, Moshe Yedidya Leiter, and had completed hundreds of reserve duty days on various fronts since October 7. He condemned Palestinian terrorism as an attempt to uproot Israelis from their land, contrasting their choice of death with Israel's choice of life.
