Netanyahu at UN: Colonialism Accusers Are Colonialists

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly in New York, where several Muslim nations walked out as he began his speech. Netanyahu commenced by referencing the Hamas invasion that initiated the current multi-front war, stating Israel has faced existential threats before. He recalled the 1967 war, noting Israel was surrounded by enemies sworn to its destruction, even before controlling Judea and Samaria, Gaza, or the Golan Heights. He specifically addressed a figure named al-Shar'a, asserting Jewish presence on the Golan Heights dates back to Moses, citing the Bible. Netanyahu then criticized Britain and France, the very nations that coined the term 'colonialism,' for accusing Israel of it.

He described the recent years for Israelis as a period of constant warfare, stating that "heroic soldiers" have been fighting on seven fronts for three years. Netanyahu questioned if any other country the size of New Jersey could sustain such a conflict. He asserted that their enemies aimed to annihilate Israel, but instead, Israel, with American support, delivered "crushing blows" and destroyed Iranian military and nuclear facilities.

During his address, Netanyahu unexpectedly produced a pager, asking the audience, "Remember pagers?" He declared that Israel had defeated Hamas and Hezbollah, implicitly referencing the pager's historical significance in communication and potentially the shift in warfare tactics.
