Israel Airport Authority to Increase Passenger Fees in 2027
The Israel Airports Authority has announced a significant increase in airport fees, set to take effect on January 1, 2027. The hikes will amount to approximately 11.2% in dollar terms.
Passengers departing from Terminal 3 at Ben Gurion Airport will see their fees rise from $33.87 to $37.68. Those flying from Terminal 1 will experience an increase from $14.61 to $17.36.
The fees are collected from airlines for each passenger departing Israel, and it is the airlines that remit the funds to the Airports Authority. While these fees represent an operational cost for airlines, they may be passed on to passengers through ticket prices. The extent to which this occurs will depend on individual airline pricing strategies and market competition on specific routes.
According to the Airports Authority's fee regulations, charges are denominated in shekels and are indexed annually based on changes in the consumer price index and the representative dollar exchange rate. A previous increase of 14% was implemented in October 2025.
