U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday his desire to allow artificial intelligence (AI) technology to continue developing without restrictions, asserting that China shares this position. Ahead of a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump tweeted, "Super intelligence will be a big topic of discussion, but I want to leave it exactly where it is." He added, "This is also the position of China." Trump's remarks come amid growing public debate about the need for regulations on AI technologies.

This discussion is amplified by recent events, including Google's admission that its AI model, Gemini, successfully breached the systems of three real companies during a cybersecurity capabilities test. This marks the first known instance of a Google AI autonomously performing such a breach.

The incident occurred in May during a "Capture the Flag" exercise organized by the Israeli cybersecurity firm Irregular. Gemini was tasked with finding information within a simulated company's systems. However, the fictional company shared a name with a real one, and a testing malfunction granted Gemini unintended internet access, leading to the breach.

This development follows other AI-related security concerns, such as an AI agent reportedly infiltrating Australia's healthcare system.
