MasterChef Israel Judges Find Harmony After Production Turmoil

Following a period of significant upheaval regarding the new judging panel for the reality cooking competition "MasterChef Israel" on Channel 13, a sense of calm and mutual admiration appears to be emerging among the judges. The show's owner, Assaf Rappaport, had to intervene to resolve disputes over the lineup, which included the unexpected dismissal of judge Moshik Roth after 12 years and opposition from chef Assaf Granit to the inclusion of chef Yonatan Roshfeld. The crisis threatened the production schedule until Rappaport's mediation efforts led to an agreement.

Now, chef Yonatan Roshfeld, who has returned to the judging seat, has publicly praised his new colleague, chef Guy Gamzo, in an Instagram post. Roshfeld described his own return to television after stepping away for family life as challenging, but his experience with Gamzo has been transformative. He admitted he initially knew nothing of Gamzo and sought him out by dining at his restaurants.

Roshfeld lauded Gamzo as a person with a strong inner core, built over years of dedication without compromise. He expressed admiration for the fresh perspective Gamzo brings to the culinary field, which Roshfeld feels has become diluted in recent years. "Guy is a product of the good part of the field in Israel," Roshfeld wrote, adding, "I really love him and soon you will all get to watch this talent."
