Ben Gvir and Tibi Clash at Election Committee

A heated confrontation erupted on Thursday at the Central Elections Committee for the Knesset between Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and MK Ahmad Tibi. The exchange began when Ben Gvir called Tibi a "terrorist" during Tibi's remarks at the podium. Tibi responded furiously, shouting at Ben Gvir to be silent and accusing him of being the convicted terrorist. Ben Gvir retorted from the audience that Tibi would not tell him to be silent.

Committee Chairman Judge Noam Sohlberg intervened, attempting to quell the argument. Tibi continued his attack, stating there was only one convicted terrorist in the Knesset, "and that is you. The terrorist pyromaniac, that is you!" Earlier, Tibi had made remarks suggesting a Jewish settler in the West Bank could shoot a Palestinian, burn an orchard, or attack a woman without being arrested in 2026.

Judge Sohlberg again tried to regain control, telling Ben Gvir "enough" and threatening to stop the proceedings. Tibi further accused Ben Gvir of arriving with TikTokers to film him, prompting Sohlberg to reiterate his request for attendees to stop filming with their devices, as the proceedings were being broadcast live.
