Ben Gvir and Gottlieb Clash with Tibi at Election Committee Hearing

A significant disturbance erupted on Wednesday during a session of the Central Elections Committee, as National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and MK Tali Gottlieb engaged in a heated confrontation with MK Ahmad Tibi while he was speaking at the podium. During Tibi's remarks, interjections were heard from the audience. Ben-Gvir vehemently attacked Tibi, stating, "A thief testifies about a thief. You are a terrorist and protect terrorists. He is unfit to testify." Tibi responded to the interruptions, protesting the conduct of the hearing, saying, "You are allowed to lash out every time an Arab goes to the podium." MK Tali Gottlieb joined the exchange, replying to Tibi, "What do we care that you are Arab? You support terror." Ben-Gvir also continued to call out to Tibi, "You support terror." The confrontation between the three involved shouting and interjections as Tibi attempted to continue his presentation. Past sharp confrontations between Ben-Gvir, Gottlieb, and Tibi have occurred in the Knesset concerning accusations of supporting terrorism. The Ethics Committee has previously addressed similar statements made by Ben-Gvir and Gottlieb.
