LEGO and Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg have revealed the LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear Megacar, a 1:8-scale model of one of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world. The original Sadair's Spear was introduced in 2025, will be built in only 30 units, and is estimated at about $5 million. It is named after the racehorse of Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of the company’s founder, and is considered one of the most extreme road-legal track cars ever made. The real car uses a 5.0-liter V8 producing up to 1,603 horsepower.
The LEGO set contains 4,104 pieces and includes a V8 engine with moving pistons, a nine-speed transmission, advanced front and rear suspension, opening doors modeled on the real car, and a mechanical version of Koenigsegg’s Ghost Mode that raises the rear wing, opens the hood, and activates other parts with one press. LEGO said developing the model took more than a year and a half, and that it is the largest and most complex model in its Ultimate Car Concept line. It measures about 59 cm long and 28 cm wide.
To mark the launch, the companies also built a full-size LEGO version of the car from 327,906 bricks. The build took more than 9,400 hours and set a new record for the fastest drivable LEGO car after reaching 111 km/h at the Goodwood track in Britain. Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh was behind the wheel. The set goes on sale July 4, 2026, with LEGO Insiders able to buy it from July 1. It will cost $449.99, and early buyers will receive a special steering wheel model as a gift.
