Syrian President Rejects Trump Claim About Army Entering Lebanon
Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said Donald Trump’s remarks about a possible Syrian army entry into Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah were not correct and had been misunderstood. He clarified that no such move is being planned in the way Trump described.
Al-Sharaa also said he is willing to sit down with Hezbollah for negotiations. He added that Lebanon deserves a future different from Syria’s past, signaling support for a different regional path.
The comments came in response to Trump’s claim about a Syrian military role in Lebanon. Al-Sharaa did not endorse the idea and instead framed dialogue as the preferred option.
