Israel's Defense Minister Slams Turkish President Erdogan as 'Paper Sultan'
Defense Minister Israel Katz sharply criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan following Erdogan's remarks at the UN General Assembly this week, where he accused Israel and called Gaza "the most inhumane concentration camp of our time."
Katz responded, "Erdogan is a paper sultan, strong in antisemitic incitement speeches but weak in deeds. I suggest he stop meddling with Israel. The State of Israel is strong and knows how to take care of itself, we are not the Kurds and helpless people he abuses in Turkey even these days."
The Defense Minister further stated, "The man who embraces and funds the murderers and rapists of Hamas accuses Israel, which is acting in self-defense against a terror organization. Erdogan knows how to give speeches and fantasize about establishing the Ottoman Empire, but when action is needed, he proves to be a paper sultan."
Katz also commented on Erdogan's regional conduct, claiming he did not react to missiles Iran fired at Turkish territory. He added that after signing a "Mecca Agreement" for Saudi Arabian defense, when the Houthis fired missiles at Mecca, Erdogan "simply disappeared" when required to act.
Katz concluded by reiterating, "I suggest he stop meddling with Israel, Israel is strong and knows how to take care of itself."
