Reporter Describes Tense Interview Between President Herzog and Channel 14 Host

Channel 13 reporter Noga Nir-Nemman described an interview given by Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Magi Tbibi, a host on Channel 14, as Herzog "being made into meatballs." The comment was made during a discussion on Raviv Drucker's program, which focused on the contentious meeting between the two.

Tbibi confronted Herzog during the interview, questioning his failure to condemn rhetoric from Channel 14 while opposing the closure of the Army Radio station. She also pressed the president on questions concerning the Ra'am party and its leader, Mansour Abbas.

President Herzog refused to rule on Ra'am's potential participation in elections, stating that such a decision is not made at the President's Residence. He told Tbibi, "There is no chance I will answer you," explaining that the eligibility of a party to run in elections is determined by the Supreme Court, not the presidency.

Hersog also argued that the interview was overly focused on questions about political leaders. The interview took place last week, on the eve of Yom Kippur, and the discussion remained unresolved as it concluded.
