Hapoel Tel Aviv owner Ofer Yanai attended a game of his team for the first time in several months on Sunday night, showing up for the third game of the Israeli basketball final against Maccabi Tel Aviv. The match was played at Maccabi's home court, and the yellow club entered with a 2-0 lead in the series and a chance to clinch the championship.
Yanai had stayed away since he was removed from a game against Hapoel Jerusalem over the so-called "equipment room affair." In that incident, he went to the scorer's table area to charge his mobile phone during the game and also filmed Jerusalem coach Yonatan Alon.
The Hapoel Tel Aviv owner had previously said several times that he would not attend games until he received an apology. More recently, his representatives filed a NIS 1.17 million lawsuit against the referees' association, saying it had conducted a "campaign of defamation and delegitimization" against him.
