Hapoel Tel Aviv Owner Ofer Yanai Confronts Association Chief Before Game 4
Just before Game 4 of the playoff final series between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv, an unusual confrontation took place involving Hapoel Tel Aviv owner Ofer Yanai and Israeli Basketball Association chairman Amos Frishman.
According to the report, Yanai argued with Frishman and vented anger over a ban he received after his conduct and remarks during a game against Hapoel Jerusalem at the arena. Yanai shouted, "Does it seem logical to you that I need a court order to watch my own team in the final?!"
Frishman did not respond to the remark and returned to his seat. The incident was reported by Sport 5 on June 23, 2026, shortly before the start of the game.
