Naftali Bennett, chairman of the Yachad party, responded to the preliminary approval of the "Basic Law: Torah Study," saying the law "will gravely harm the State of Israel and the Haredi public." He addressed them, saying, "You are being sentenced to lives of poverty and dependence while they live in luxury villas. There will be one law for everyone here."
Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Lieberman also responded, saying, "We will repeal all the basic laws of your draft evasion, nothing will remain of them." Yashar! chairman Gadi Eisenkot said that "the October 7 coalition has no respect for the lives of Israelis or their security."
