Keyes departed his role in 2018 following allegations of sexual misconduct. Although he faced these claims, no charges were filed against him.

Keyes's absence from a recently published photograph alongside Netanyahu, captioned "The Prime Minister prepares for his speech," has drawn attention. The image was released by the Prime Minister's Office in anticipation of Netanyahu's swift visit to the United Nations. Keyes had been involved in the speechwriting process for the upcoming address.
