Eyal Berkovich Lashes Out at Supreme Court and Public Opinion

During a live broadcast on Wednesday on the 103fm radio station, former footballer and radio host Eyal Berkovich made strong statements regarding the Israeli legal system and recent political polls. Berkovich, co-hosting with Erel Segal, urged the Supreme Court to definitively disqualify politicians Ofer Cassif and Sami Abu Shahadeh from the Knesset. He sharply criticized the court, stating, "The Supreme Court is idiotic if it saves Abu Shahadeh and Cassif." Berkovich also sarcastically suggested to his co-host that they should reform the justice system themselves.

Beyond his legal critique, Berkovich expressed deep frustration with the current political landscape as reflected in recent opinion polls. The polls indicate a near-even split between political blocs, with the "change bloc" holding a slim lead of 54 seats to the opposing bloc's 50.

Berkovich emphasized his expectation of a decisive victory for the bloc he supports, viewing close election results as a failure. "If the change bloc doesn't win easily, for me it's like losing the election," he declared. He concluded by questioning the public's understanding of the need for change, stating, "If the people still don't understand that change is needed, then for me all the messages I've conveyed have failed. Either the people are stupid or I am stupid."
