Netanyahu's UN Trip: Levin to Serve as Acting PM, Katz to Lead Security Cabinet
The Israeli government has approved ministerial appointments ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's trip to New York for his address at the United Nations General Assembly. During Netanyahu's absence from the country, Justice Minister Yariv Levin will serve as the acting Prime Minister. Concurrently, Defense Minister Israel Katz has been appointed to chair the Ministerial Committee on National Security Affairs. In this capacity, Katz will be responsible for convening and managing meetings of the Political-Security Cabinet if necessary during the Prime Minister's absence.
