Arab Israeli Lawmaker Backs Colleague Against 'Racist Rhetoric'

Member of Knesset Walid Taha has declared his support for fellow lawmaker Sami Abu Shehadeh in confronting what Taha described as "racist and inciting rhetoric." Taha stated on his official page that while he disagrees with Abu Shehadeh on political, ideological, and strategic approaches, this does not prevent him from defending the Arab community's right to express its views and opinions.

Taha emphasized that the rhetoric in question targets not only individuals but also directly infringes upon the Arab community's right to free expression. He rejected what he termed attempts to pressure this right through racism, persecution, and incitement, stressing the necessity for the Arab community to voice its positions free from such practices.

The lawmaker's stance comes as a show of solidarity with Abu Shehadeh, even as Taha reiterated significant differences in political approach, thought, and ideology between them, as detailed in his post.
