Car Ramming Attack at Makabim Checkpoint Leaves Police Officer Critically Injured

A Palestinian man rammed his vehicle into a police car at the Makabim checkpoint on Route 443, critically injuring a police officer. The attacker, described as a man in his 40s, was neutralized at the scene by security forces. The injured officer, a police team member, was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

The incident occurred at the Bl checkpoint, a security crossing in the Benjamin region of the West Bank. Police stated that the attacker drove his vehicle towards a police car from the Judea and Samaria district, striking one of its crew members. Forces present at the scene eliminated the attacker, and an investigation has been launched.

Magen David Adom (MDA) received the initial report at 4:54 PM, describing a man hit by a vehicle on Route 443. MDA paramedics, along with IDF medical personnel, provided life-saving treatment to the victim before transporting him to the hospital.

This attack follows a deadly shooting incident at the Ein Ri'a spring in the Benjamin region just three days prior, where Natanel Shkaron, 48, was killed while protecting his teenage son. The gunman in that attack was apprehended hours later in Ramallah.
