Election Committee Disqualifies Arab Party Ra'am; Supreme Court Expected to Overturn
Israel's Central Elections Committee has decided to disqualify the Arab party Ra'am (United Arab List) from running in the upcoming 26th Knesset elections. This decision was made during the committee's deliberations on disqualifying candidates and lists. Earlier the same day, the committee had also disqualified Sami Abu Shehadeh, the chairman of the Balad party.
The disqualification of Ra'am is expected to be reviewed by the Supreme Court, following the legal process established by law. The Supreme Court has the authority to overturn decisions made by the Elections Committee.
