Nice in Talks to Sell Actimize Unit for $2 Billion
Shares of NICE Systems saw a significant jump following a report by Sky News indicating that Canadian investment giant Brookfield is in negotiations to acquire NICE's Actimize business for approximately $2 billion. Brookfield's financial infrastructure arm is reportedly leading the discussions, though sources speaking to Sky News cautioned that deal specifics have not yet been finalized and the talks may not result in an agreement.
NICE, led by CEO Scott Russell, specializes in customer relationship management and risk management solutions. The company has been exploring the sale of its financial risk management division, which is centered around Actimize, a company NICE acquired in 2007. Previous reports in recent months suggested that NICE had received non-binding offers for the unit, valued at around $2.5 billion.
