Israeli Reservists Destroy Hezbollah Weapons Caches on Mount Dov

Reservists from the 5030th Battalion have concluded a 100-day operational period on Mount Dov, culminating in an operation that destroyed Hezbollah weapons caches and rocket launchers. This mission marked the fifth mobilization for the unit since the war began, with soldiers spending months on defensive and offensive tasks in the Har Dov sector. The battalion's total time in combat zones has reached 450 days.

According to a retired Major identified as 'N.', the unit's primary role is to defend positions and uncover hidden terrorist infrastructure, including underground sites. The recent operation involved extensive preparation by engineering forces to clear difficult routes. Intelligence gathered led soldiers to discover a Hezbollah weapons depot and several prepared rocket launchers targeting Israel near the village of Ghajar.

Some of the discovered weaponry was confiscated, while the rest was destroyed by the battalion. The military command highlighted the valuable professional experience reservists bring from their civilian lives, contributing to mission success. Despite the challenges of extended separation from families during holidays and the start of the school year, the reservists maintained high motivation.

Commanders emphasized that reserve duty is a crucial national mission for securing Israel's northern borders and countering the threat posed by Hezbollah. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts to neutralize Hezbollah's military capabilities in the region.
