Maccabi Tel Aviv Taunts Rival Hapoel With Player's Transfer
Maccabi Tel Aviv officially unveiled its new uniforms for the 2026-2027 season on Wednesday in a minute-long video. At the end of the clip, the team included a jab at rival Hapoel Tel Aviv by showing Yam Madar, a former Hapoel player, crossing the street near the arena.
Madar, who played for Hapoel for five years across two stints (2018-2021 and 2024-2026), joined Maccabi this summer after a dramatic transfer saga where he paid his release clause from Hapoel Tel Aviv.
He made his official debut for Maccabi in the Super Cup game against Hapoel, which Maccabi won decisively 101-83. In that game, Madar scored 13 points, dished out 7 assists, and had zero turnovers.
