The upcoming Toto Cup final, featuring a Tel Aviv derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv on October 29 at Bloomfield Stadium, is set to be the most heavily secured soccer match in Israeli history. The League Management is dedicating significant resources and planning, having worked on security arrangements for three weeks with several more weeks of preparation ahead.

The unprecedented security measures are due to an equal distribution of tickets, with 15,000 fans from each club attending. This contrasts with typical matches where one team hosts and the visiting team receives only 3,000 tickets, allowing for less intensive security. The equal fan split is expected to create a particularly volatile atmosphere, especially following recent tensions surrounding previous derbies.

Security costs for this match are estimated to approach an unprecedented 2 million shekels, significantly higher than the 1.6 million shekels spent on security for last year's Toto Cup final between Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Tel Aviv at Sammy Ofer Stadium. The majority of these expenses will be allocated to security and maintaining order.
