Tel Aviv Derby Possible in Toto Cup Final as Semifinals and Ranking Matches Set
The group stage of the Toto Cup has concluded, setting the stage for the semifinals and ranking matches scheduled for the upcoming weekend. These games will serve as the final rehearsal for Israeli Premier League teams ahead of the regular season kickoff in less than two weeks.
Two semifinal matches will be played simultaneously on Sunday at 8:00 PM. The first semifinal will feature Ironi Kiryat Shmona hosting Hapoel Tel Aviv at HaMoshava Stadium, while the second will see Maccabi Netanya hosting Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Netanya Municipal Stadium. Alongside the semifinals, ranking matches will determine final placements from 5th to 14th place.
On Saturday, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, the reigning champions, will visit Hapoel Haifa to compete for 5th and 6th places, with the exact kickoff time to be announced. Additionally, Ironi Tiberias will face Maccabi Petah Tikva for 11th and 12th places, and Bnei Sakhnin will play Hapoel Petah Tikva for 13th and 14th places, both starting at 8:15 PM.
Ranking matches will continue on Monday at 8:00 PM, with Hapoel Ramat Gan hosting Beitar Jerusalem for 7th and 8th places, and Maccabi Haifa facing Hapoel Jerusalem for 9th and 10th places. The Toto Cup final date has not been finalized but is expected to take place between December 22 and 24. The possibility of a Tel Aviv derby final between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv remains open.
