Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Closes Lower Amid Global Downturn
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange concluded trading on a negative note, mirroring global market trends. The TA-35 index saw a decline of 0.2%, while the TA-90 index dropped by 0.8%.
Leading the downturn were the real estate and insurance sectors, both experiencing losses exceeding 1%. Other sectors showing weakness included finance, down approximately 0.6%, and overseas income-producing real estate, down 0.7%.
Conversely, the cleantech and energy infrastructure sectors bucked the trend, rising by 1.1% and 1.2% respectively. The technology sector also showed positive movement, gaining 0.8% to 1.5% throughout the day.
In currency markets, the US dollar strengthened against the Israeli shekel, trading above 3.02 shekels. The dollar saw an increase of 0.58% during the trading day.
Notable stock movements included Doral Energy and Nice, which surged over 5% each. Conversely, Electra Real Estate and Qualitao experienced significant drops, falling by more than 5% each.
