Arson Suspected in Southern Israel Avocado Farm Attack

Dozens of plastic collection bins were completely destroyed by fire overnight at the "Tzabar Kama" agricultural cooperative's avocado orchards in southern Israel. The incident occurred while farmers were away during the recent Jewish holidays and fast days. Upon returning, they discovered the extensive damage, with over 30 "dolavs" (large plastic containers used for harvesting) burned to ashes. The direct financial loss from the destroyed equipment is estimated at over 50,000 shekels. Beyond the monetary damage, the attack has forced a postponement of planned harvesting operations.

Volunteers from the "Hashomer Hachadash" organization arrived at the scene to assist. Noam, an avocado grower from the cooperative, stated, "We are waiting for the police to tell us what happened. The immediate fear is protection rackets." The Israel Police confirmed that an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the incident, examining the possibility of intentional arson motivated by criminal or nationalistic reasons.
