Givat Shmuel Offers Free Palm Fronds for Sukkah Construction

The Givat Shmuel Municipality's Welfare and Community Department has initiated its annual palm tree trimming operation across the city in preparation for the Sukkot holiday. The trimmed palm fronds, suitable for use as 'sukkah' roofing material, are being made available to the public free of charge.

The fronds are placed near the trimmed trees and can be collected by residents on a self-service basis until supplies run out. Priority for collection will be given to the city's residents.

The trimming and distribution efforts are spread over two days at various locations. On September 22, trimming took place in the garden at Ilan Square and on Keren HaYesod Street near building number 5. On September 23, work continued in Ramon Park, the Central Park on HaNasi Street, and on HaZaitim and Bialik Streets.

The municipality invites residents to collect the kosher roofing material for their sukkahs and wishes everyone a happy Sukkot holiday and a good year.
