New Leadership Network Launched to Foster Collaboration in Gaza Envelope
A new regional leadership network is being established to connect key figures involved in the recovery and development efforts in Israel's Gaza Envelope communities. The initiative, a collaboration between the "Tukuma" Administration, the "Atidot L'Yisrael" (Future for Israel) division of the Prime Minister's Office, the "Atid La'Ofek" (Future for the Envelope) movement, and the Jewish Federation of Chicago, aims to bridge divides between individuals and organizations working across different localities, authorities, and sectors.
The network arises from the numerous civilian, community, and professional initiatives that emerged during the recent emergency and recovery periods. While many residents, entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals have been instrumental in addressing immediate needs, their efforts have often remained fragmented. This new network seeks to strengthen local leadership alongside infrastructure reconstruction.
Each partner brings unique expertise: the "Tukuma" Administration contributes its connection to national recovery processes, "Atidot L'Yisrael" offers experience in leadership development and public sector networking, "Atid La'Ofek" ensures local community needs are met, and the Jewish Federation of Chicago provides long-term support and investment.
The network will operate through regional meetings, task forces, professional training, and initiative development. It is expected to involve dozens of active participants from across the Gaza Envelope in its first year, advancing at least six selected initiatives. The network aims to reflect the diverse population of the region, including residents from cities, kibbutzim, moshavim, and community settlements.
The long-term goal is to build an independent, trust-based network that will continue to operate in the region for years, enhancing the capacity of residents to collaborate with the state, local authorities, civil society, and philanthropic organizations. This collaboration is intended not only for the region's recovery but also for shaping its future. Officials emphasized that investing in people and their connections is crucial for fostering growth and development that will have a lasting impact.
