Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised prominent Channel 14 commentator Yaakov Bardugo a senior government position and a seat on the Security and Political Cabinet in the upcoming government, according to sources familiar with the matter cited by Walla news. These promises are reportedly in addition to Bardugo being placed in the 11th spot on the Likud party's Knesset list for the 26th Knesset, a high placement that secured his election.

The sources indicated that the Knesset placement was the first of two key promises fulfilled, with the second being the commitment to a cabinet role. It remains unclear whether Bardugo would be a full member or an observer in the Security and Political Cabinet. Bardugo has previously been rumored for ministerial positions, including Justice Minister or Communications Minister, and has stated he would accept the Justice Minister role if offered.

The potential appointment to the Security and Political Cabinet is notable given Bardugo's strong criticism of military leadership, including IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, and his sharp critiques of the war's management during the recent conflict. However, the Likud party has denied these claims, stating that Netanyahu is not currently distributing positions before the elections. A party spokesperson said, "Prime Minister Netanyahu has not dealt and is not dealing with the distribution of roles before the elections."
