Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva delivered a scathing critique of the United Nations during a speech at the UN General Assembly, asserting that the organization has failed in its core mission to rid humanity of war. He stated that the UN's credibility has never been lower and that the world is held "hostage" by the Security Council's inaction.
Da Silva went on to accuse the Israeli government of committing genocide against women and children in Gaza. He claimed that "generations of Palestinians will bear the pain and trauma left by the genocide of women and children committed by the Netanyahu government in Gaza."
