C14 announced on Sunday that Yael Anker has joined the site as its new health correspondent. Anker, 32, previously worked as a reporter for Doc Channel, and earlier began her media career on the content team of "HaBoker HaZeh" with Niv Raskin. She later served as a content editor and reporter at Doc Channel, which focuses on health coverage.
In her new role, Anker will cover health topics and provide C14 readers with reports, features and updates from the health arena. She said she was "happy and excited to join the Channel 14 family" and described the job as a meaningful chance to keep delivering reliable, professional and useful information to the public.
Anker added that journalism is "much more than a profession" for her, calling it a mission and saying responsible media can influence debate, raise important issues, expose human stories and give a voice to people and subjects that deserve attention. She thanked the channel for its trust and said she is coming into the post with "a lot of excitement, commitment and passion".
Channel 14 management said it was pleased to welcome her to C14 and was confident that her experience and familiarity with health reporting would help expand the site’s professional and high-quality coverage.
