Iran Accuses Israel of Hindering US Regional Deal, Criticizes UN

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that Israel is allegedly obstructing the United States from reaching an agreement in the region. Araghchi expressed Tehran's lack of trust in the United Nations in its current form, asserting that the organization is influenced by Western states unwilling to strongly condemn Israel's actions. This was reported by the IRNA news agency.

Araghchi also announced that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian intends to use the UN General Assembly platform to advocate for the rights and interests of the Iranian people. The president plans to publicly criticize Western countries for what Iran perceives as an inadequate response to events in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, Lebanon, and Iran.

Speaking to journalists in New York, the minister reiterated Tehran's distrust of the UN due to perceived Western influence. He also urged the U.S. to "shed the shackles of Israel." The diplomat characterized the current visit of the Iranian delegation as occurring amidst what he believes is an unjust confrontation initiated by the U.S. and Israeli leadership.

Earlier reports mentioned warnings from Iranian military leadership regarding new weapons and expanded conflict zones in response to a potential U.S. offensive. Concurrently, former U.S. President Trump has considered various scenarios, from a ceasefire to the complete destruction of the Islamic Republic. Additionally, Iranian military sources claim to have intelligence about U.S. preparations for a large-scale attack against Iran.
