Israeli Chef Shahaf Shabtai Hosts Johnny Depp in Shanghai
Israeli chef Shahaf Shabtai recently hosted Hollywood actor Johnny Depp for a private dinner at his restaurant, Mess Restaurant, in Shanghai. The meal was held in honor of Depp's art exhibition at the Mam Shanghai museum, where Shabtai's restaurant is located.
Shabtai, who also serves as the chef for Arkia Airlines and the Tel Aviv restaurant Pop & Pop, prepared a special fusion menu for Depp. The dishes included Brazilian bread with parmesan, pea soup with coconut foam, a fish tiramisu with pineapple and jalapeño salsa, and filet mignon with a unique puree and port-miso sauce.
Depp reportedly enjoyed the meal immensely and, at the conclusion of the dinner, personally summoned Shabtai. The actor praised the chef's culinary creations and expressed interest in having Shabtai cook for him at future events.
This encounter follows Shabtai's previous experience hosting actress Angelina Jolie a few months prior. The restaurant expressed pride in Shabtai's international success, highlighting his role in such a significant global project.
