Ex-Soccer Star Eyal Berkovic Slams Netanyahu's Western Wall Visit

Former Israeli soccer star and television host Eyal Berkovic launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following his visit to the Western Wall for a pre-Yom Kippur prayer ceremony. Berkovic, speaking on his radio show, accused Netanyahu of using the religious site for political gain ahead of upcoming elections, stating that the Prime Minister would not have attended if not for the political climate.

Berkovic further criticized Netanyahu's personal religious observance, making controversial remarks about his lifestyle and adherence to Jewish law. "This deceiver Netanyahu, if there weren't elections he wouldn't come to the Western Wall," Berkovic declared. He added, "He is not a religious person who observes commandments at all, he eats forbidden things. The worst is that on Yom Kippur he didn't even ask for forgiveness."

This public criticism comes as Berkovic's own son, Lior Berkovic, has recently shared his personal journey of becoming more religiously observant.
