Israel Soccer Team Refuses Jersey Swap With Ireland Over Coach's Remarks

The Israeli national soccer team has decided not to exchange jerseys with their Irish opponents, at least until after their upcoming match against Austria. This decision stems from comments made by the Irish coach, which were heard by Israeli players during their Yom Kippur observance in Vienna. A senior player stated, "After Austria, we will deal with Ireland, but one decision has already been made."

The Israeli team's professional and administrative staff, including Football Association chairman Shino Zuarz, had initially asked players to lower their profile regarding the Irish team until after the Austria game. However, private discussions among players led to the firm decision regarding the jersey swap.

In other team news, defender Idan Nachmias reported feeling better after a muscle injury but will undergo imaging as a precaution. If he can participate in a full training session on Friday, he may play alongside Nikita Stoyanov. If Nachmias is unavailable, Raz Shlomo is slated to fill the center-back position.

Midfielder Gabi Kanyukovsky is set to join the team on Friday following his brother's wedding.
