Couple Held Captive by Hamas to Be Portrayed in New Play

The Habima National Theatre will present a staged reading of a new play, "Love at the End of the Tunnel," inspired by the story of Aviva and Keith Siegel, a couple abducted by Hamas on October 7th. The event, scheduled for October 6th, will precede the third anniversary of the Hamas attacks.

The play, initiated by Eitan Schwartz and written by Michal Aharoni, was developed in full partnership with Aviva and Keith Siegel themselves. It aims to tell their story not just as a chronicle of the October 7th events, but as a testament to their enduring love and commitment over forty years of marriage, which helped them survive their ordeal.

Veteran Israeli actors Sandra Sade and Moni Moshonov, themselves a married couple actively involved in advocating for the release of hostages, will portray the Siegels. The play is an intimate piece for two actors, exploring their personal story, their experience in captivity, and their struggle to maintain their humanity under extreme duress.

The narrative unfolds through dialogues between the two characters, revealing their individual experiences and their shared journey, emphasizing their love as the key to their survival in the harsh conditions of captivity. The play seeks to highlight their resilience and the human spirit in the face of unimaginable circumstances.
