Northern Resident Sentenced for Contact with Iranian Agent, Filming Gallant's Home
A Haifa District Court has sentenced Fares Abu Al-Hija, a 32-year-old resident of Kaokab Abu Al-Hija in northern Israel, to four years and seven months in prison, plus an additional two years suspended. Abu Al-Hija was convicted of making contact with a foreign agent as part of a plea deal.
During his investigation, intelligence emerged that Abu Al-Hija had been in contact with an Iranian intelligence operative and had received money for carrying out various tasks. He was apprehended after being caught photographing streets near the home of then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in the moshav of Amikam.
