AI Influence on Israeli Elections: One in Four Considers AI for Voting Decisions

A survey conducted by the Internet Association of Israel reveals that one in four Israeli citizens are considering using artificial intelligence tools to help decide who to vote for in upcoming elections. The poll also found that 71% of the public encountered misinformation and fake news related to the elections. Furthermore, 57% reported seeing fake or impersonated accounts, and 48% came across instances where AI tools were used to defame or abuse others.

The findings emerged from a survey conducted during a period dominated by election discourse on social media and in the news. Dima Assad Nicola, who focuses on bridging the digital divide at the Internet Association of Israel, discussed these trends with Hala Channel.
