Defense Minister Israel Katz said there is “no restriction” on IDF troops operating in Lebanon to remove threats. He said the army had “responded with great force” after attacks on Israeli forces, killed a large number of Hezbollah militants, and hit many terror infrastructure sites.
Katz stressed that protecting soldiers and civilians is the top and absolute priority. He said all of the IDF’s gains in the Lebanon campaign are being preserved, with Israeli forces deployed in the security zone along the “yellow line” inside Lebanon and operating from there against militants and terror infrastructure.
According to Katz, the ceasefire announced on Tuesday leaves the IDF in all positions in the security area that protects communities in northern Israel. He added, “As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I made clear, Israel will not withdraw from the security zone in Lebanon.”
