Yom Kippur Ends in Israel with Shofar Blasts, Preparations for Sukkot Begin
Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, concluded across Israel on Monday evening at 7:14 PM with the sounding of the shofar. Following the fast, preparations are underway nationwide for the upcoming Sukkot holiday. Tens of thousands of people attended synagogue services throughout the solemn day.
Public transportation, including trains and buses, is set to resume normal operations across the country following the end of the holiday. Emergency services were active during Yom Kippur, with Magen David Adom (MDA) teams responding to numerous calls. Notably, MDA teams assisted in the transport of 155 women in labor to hospitals. Of these, five births were directly attended by MDA teams in Bnei Brak. Deliveries occurred in various locations, including Jerusalem, Hashmonaim, Ashdod, and Yavneel, with both boys and girls born.
Additionally, MDA's blood services provided 152 units and components of blood to hospitals throughout Israel during Yom Kippur, ensuring critical medical needs were met.
