Tel Aviv court extends detention of man suspected of attacking women
A Tel Aviv magistrate’s court extended by three days the detention of David Ezra, who is suspected of assaulting women on the street by knocking them to the ground without knowing them beforehand. He was arrested after being captured on video in two separate incidents.
During the hearing, Ezra claimed that the women had bumped into him by mistake. Police said they were concerned about his mental state and asked that he undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
The case will continue while investigators examine the incidents and the court reviews the request for a mental-health assessment.
