Israeli Forces Detain 50 in West Bank Town After Shooting Attack

Israeli forces continued their operations in the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem, on Tuesday, conducting raids and detaining at least 50 residents. The mayor of Biddu, Nazmi Mansour, stated that the ongoing military presence and searches led the municipality to close all official institutions, schools, and businesses. He reported that Israeli soldiers physically assaulted some residents during the raids and restricted movement within the town.

Residents have largely remained in their homes due to fear and uncertainty amid the prolonged military operations. The closure of businesses and institutions has disrupted daily life, halting educational, official, and commercial activities. The town has experienced continuous raids and searches, accompanied by arrests and assaults on civilians.

The intensified operations in Biddu follow a shooting attack near the settlement of Nof Tsuf the previous day, which was attributed to Qadri Muhammad Samara, a resident of Biddu. The attack resulted in the death of one settler. Samara was reportedly arrested later in a hospital in Al-Bireh.
