Taibe Residents Protest Road Plans Threatening Land Confiscation

Residents of Taibe, a city in central Israel, held a protest on Saturday evening against the approved deposit of plans for Road 553 and the 'Alexander' junction. The popular committee and farmers' committee in Taibe called for the demonstration, which took place on the main street. Participants raised banners expressing their rejection of the plan, emphasizing their commitment to their land and the need to protect landowners' rights. They also called for a reconsideration of the plan's route to avoid harming residents and their property.

Lawyer Yousef Juma, a member of Taibe's popular committee, spoke about the popular movement against these plans. The plans reportedly threaten the confiscation of lands belonging to residents of Taibe, Tayibe, and Qalansawe. The protesters stressed the importance of protecting landowners' rights and called for the plan to be revised to prevent damage to residents and their property.
