Ben-Gvir Urges Licensed Gun Owners to Carry Weapons on Yom Kippur

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has called on all Israeli citizens holding personal firearm licenses to carry their weapons with them on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. He specifically urged them not to leave their guns in safes but to carry them legally and responsibly throughout the day.

Ben-Gvir emphasized that this directive applies to all locations licensed gun owners might visit, including synagogues and during prayer services. "Even to the synagogue and prayer and to any place you are," he stated, underscoring the need for licensed individuals to remain armed while in various public spaces.

The minister stressed that carrying firearms must be done within legal frameworks and with a sense of responsibility. He reiterated that his call is not limited to specific areas or activities but encompasses all movements and gatherings on Yom Kippur.

This directive comes as part of Ben-Gvir's direct guidance on how licensed gun owners should manage their weapons during the solemn holiday.
