Lieberman Warns of Opposition Split, Criticizes Gantz-like Strategy

Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, has sharply criticized Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the "Derech Eretz" party, warning that Eisenkot's current political strategy could lead to a split within the opposition camp and negatively impact upcoming elections. Lieberman expressed concern that Eisenkot's approach, which he believes prioritizes his own political advancement over the unity of the "change bloc," could result in a "Benny Gantz 2.0" scenario.

Lieberman specifically objected to Eisenkot's perceived openness to potential cooperation with ultra-Orthodox parties and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "Netanyahu cannot be a partner in anything," Lieberman stated emphatically, adding that anyone involved in the failures of October 7 should not be part of the next government.

He also called for clarity from Ofer Winter's party, urging them to present a concrete platform and program with only five weeks remaining until the elections. Lieberman questioned the party's stance on the draft law, indicating a lack of understanding regarding their position.

Furthermore, Lieberman criticized the ultra-Orthodox parties' plans, proposing his own five-year plan to redirect billions from draft dodgers to those serving in the military. He also accused Prime Minister Netanyahu of strengthening Hamas, claiming that funds attributed to Qatar are actually Netanyahu's money, which he asserted, based on intelligence, are reaching Hamas's military wing.

Lieberman concluded by expressing confidence that a government led by him could achieve victory on all fronts and end the ongoing war of attrition.
