Motorcycle Chase Ends in Arrest of Teen Driver with Unhelmeted Child

Border Police motorcycle officers in the northern region spotted a scooter in the village of Yasif carrying a 7-year-old boy without a helmet. When signaled to stop, the 18-year-old driver fled, leading officers on a chase through the village streets, driving against traffic and endangering his young passenger and other road users. The pursuit concluded when the driver abandoned the scooter and attempted to escape on foot towards a nearby house, but was apprehended by the officers.

It was revealed after the arrest that the driver was 18 years old and the passenger was his 7-year-old cousin. The incident began during a routine enforcement operation by the Border Police against offenses involving two-wheeled vehicles and road bullying. The suspect was taken for further investigation, issued traffic violation tickets, and received penalty points on his license.
