Israeli Family Transforms Old Semi-Detached Home into Modern Oasis

A couple in Ramat Gan, Israel, undertook a comprehensive renovation of their semi-detached home, transforming it from a functional space for one family into a modern, expansive residence for their own family of five. The project, led by interior designer Sharona Tabib, involved significant structural changes, a complete overhaul of the interior design, and the reimagining of outdoor spaces.

The design concept centered on a palette of earthy tones and natural materials, creating a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere. Key features include an expanded kitchen with a hidden pantry accessible through a secret door, a custom-designed bar that conceals electrical cabinets, and integrated storage solutions throughout the house to maintain a clutter-free environment. The living area incorporates a striking artistic bench and a custom-built library, blending wood and metal elements for warmth and visual interest.

Outdoor living was a major focus, with the creation of an extensive outdoor kitchen, a dining area, a lounge space, and a lawn for children. A large glass-enclosed patio door seamlessly connects the indoor living room to the garden, facilitating indoor-outdoor entertaining. The upper level boasts a rooftop pool area with comfortable seating and an outdoor shower, designed to evoke a vacation-like ambiance.

The private quarters were also meticulously redesigned. The master bedroom features a custom bed with integrated controls and a spacious layout, while the master bathroom utilizes large, earthy-toned tiles and wood accents for a spa-like feel. Children's rooms were designed with adaptability in mind, incorporating flexible storage and study areas that can evolve with the children's needs. One son's room features a desk integrated into a pastel blue wardrobe, while the younger children's room utilizes Montessori-style beds to promote independence.
