Islamic Movement Leader Says Mansour Abbas Nearing Political Retirement

The leader of the Islamic Movement, Spoat Frig', has expressed support for Mansour Abbas's political strategy, stating that Abbas is approaching the end of his political tenure. Frig' described the party, represented in the Knesset by the Ra'am party, as a "great project" for Arab society in Israel.

Frig' likened the Islamic Movement to parents who have raised a child that has become influential and a source of pride. He emphasized that Ra'am belongs to Arab society, not solely to Mansour Abbas or its other Knesset members. Therefore, he indicated, Abbas will conclude his political role in the coming years.

This aligns with Abbas's recent announcement that the upcoming Knesset term will be his last in a political role, as he intends to step down to allow another representative to lead the party. Frig' noted that Abbas is pursuing an important path that extends beyond Knesset representation, aiming to influence national decision-making to serve the interests of Arab society.
